I am planning on installing the OEM spoiler with the LED brake light strip in it on my 99 SVT. My question is: Do the 2000 SVTs with the stock spoiler also have the 3rd brake light on the rear deck?
thanks in advance Matt

I was under the impression that the stock spoiler wasn't available until 2000, is this true?

I am pretty sure it is just the same spoiler that was on some of the earlier SE Sports. Like the one in my sig.

All spoilers from 1998-2000 'tours are the same. They all have a 3rd break light and no light in the rear window. Personally, I would like to find a spoiler that looks like the stock one, but doesn't have the light in it. I saw one on a Contour years ago, but haven't seen one since.

I have both lights unfortunately There is hope though! All you have to do is not connect the light on the spoiler!!! It works good if your car is T-red like mine anyway, seeing as how the lights sort of blend in. Personally I like not having the light on the spoiler, it makes it NOT look OEM.

My aunt has a new Avalon with a spoiler (which looks absolutely retarded on it) and the third brake lamp is still on the rear deck - it just has a huge plastic cap over the light...Toyota? Quality?

As far as I know, my SVT came with the spoiler (but it may have been dealer-installed). It does have both brake lights, although the one on the rear-deck is NOT connected. But it's still there.

I am not sure on this one but i picked up an old issue of Car & Driver in my school library that had the 1998 SVT on the cover comparing it to the VW GLX, integra GSR, etc. Anyway it said in that article that the SVT not offered with a spoiler as the designers didnt want to call too much attention to the SVT, but mb it changed after 1998...
