Hey guys, I just thought I'd tell you, that if you are thinking about getting your windows tinted, that you should go to Notorious Tintz on the south side of I-96 on Merrimen on the east side of the street right after schoolcraft. 200 for tint, and 20$ for insurance. If you ever get pulled over and get a ticket for your tint, he will take the tint off for you, you can show the police, and he will put it back on for you for free. All you have to do is buy the insurace. Well worth it if you get pulled over alot. His name is FRANK.

My buddy does it for $170 and used the high quality, high performance (as its called) metallic tint. He does this for a living and is mobile to boot. Call Jeff at DJ's Window Tinting (586) 491-8082...he does good work

From my limited experience there is a large variance in quality of tint jobs, mostly the installation, not the material. I had my SVT done by a mobil guy for $180 and I was not pleased with the job. Everything turned out fine, but I can't say i'll be going back for future vehicles.
There is a place called SunShade in Troy, on Maple (15 Mile) and Thurderbird Lane, West of Livernois. I had my wife's truck windows doen there, which was an easy job, but I have seen others. A friend not on here had his Contour done there for $225 back in 97 or 98, then sold that car. The few times I have been in there, he is working on mostly upscale cars. Now those people have more money than most Contour owners to pay more for tint, but may times these people are meticulous with the quality and they trust him.
Anyway, I have seen good tint, bad tint, and average the price seems to correlate.

I can agree with sunshade, all of my friends and their parents had their cars done there and have NEVER had a problem.

I have a connection at ziebart... got mine done for $125!! I just hate waiting for it to dry. Winter is the worst time to get tinting done.

i also went through rogers guy, and have to say that he did a fantastic job tinting my windows.... Also, there is a lifetime warranty, so if they ever fail, he replaces them..... Price is also very good, and for the liftime warranty included, you cant beat it. In regards to the material he uses, looks great!!!! PM me or Roger if you want his number, but tell him you know roger, i am just a punk kid!!! hahahaha

For any of you guys up here in Lansing try Shady creationz. Darrin Brackins is the guy to see. He does an excellent job and uses the commercial grade tint that is that rubbery material. He's been tinting for 12 yrs and has another guy tinting with him that has been tinting even longer. (517) 887 7274 is his number he's a real cool guy. He also is the only provider of certain graduation tint colors in Mich. Like red fading into black an such.
