what should one expect to find when inspecting the wheel bearings and cv joint in axle in relation to this problem:

had grinding/rubbing noise from drivers side front tire. it occurs at higway speeds 45-55 mph making long left turns of about 1/4 mile or so, sound had gone away after when i replaced with four new tires? tires have been rotated 350 mi ago, i recently had car up on jack stands i think i may have had the stand too far forward (of the sub frame where the subframe continues and the wheels attach to the car) to support the car could i have bent something??

Mine makes the same sound but at slow parking lot speeds. It is always loose lug nuts. Try that, maybe you'll get lucky.
