I pulled up to work today (musta been about 30 degrees outside) and i forgot to turn the light off (yeah my bad)
so obviously i didnt have power 6 hours later. I tried starting the car, because i hadn't realized i didnt have power yet... that's once i tried. I used one of those cigarette lighter power cords (that goes from 1 car's cigarette source to anothers) and after 5 minutes i tried the car again...nothing, i did this 4 times
i finally found jumper cables a few hours later at home...and everything powered up...the engine didn't make a SOUND....i couldnt get the thing started...what i do?! (flood the engine perhaps?) any suggestions...corrections?

Can you hear you starter? is there any noise made when you turn the key? Mine will start but won't go into drive so i'm one step ahead of you but also stuck at work and same weather in ohio about 8 degrees!

If the battery is badly dis-charged (as it would be in this case), you may have to leave the jumper cables connected for several minutes, with the engine running in the car with the good battery. Sometimes it takes a while for the 'good' battery to build up the 'bad' battery.

No there is NO noise....no clicking no whining...just silence...but my alarm will go full strength, my lights will turn on etc (only during the jump)
ill try to leave it on a few minutes tonight with the expedition being the jumper...gotta wait till after work

Well...i managed to get the car started...this time i pumped the brake a few times and suddenly the car gained some more power...*shrug* weird...but it would jump start this time

Had strange electrical things going on with our '93 Escort wagon. Had to have the entire battery/electical wiring replced, it was corroded through out.
