I have a 1995 Contour Lx with the 16v Zetec engine its an automatic and I was wonderin if I have an ATX or a MTX i dont know much about contours I just got it about a month ago

You would have an ATX... MTX is a stick

Depends on the driver and i believe reaction time unless there is forced induction involved.

of course atx can be faster, especially if mtx driver doesn't know how to shift, but in general, mtx has less drivetrain loss than atx.

Not to mention that it's much easier to control your powerband. Damn these automatic shifts just when it's getting good!
