It says this on the svt website. I was wondering if anybody knows if this is true or not?

I think it is more like 7 flat for the 2000 SVT's. I've even seen 6.9 stated somewhere.

I believe it was either Car and Driver or MotorTrend that clocked it at 6.9. SVT's numbers are very conservative.

similarly, C&Ds might also be a little optimistic. you would really have rip the car to pull off a 6.9.

I ran my car like crap the first time I took it to the track, bad reaction, spun the tires through 1st, bogged, bad 60' and a misshift at 3rd and I still got a 15.7 COMPLETLEY STOCK!

I'm thinking that's VERY CONSERVATIVE

Not conservative as you make it sound.

American Iron Shootout 2001
About 10 SVTs there all with decent mods ranging from intake and exhaust to MSDS and 3L.

Many SVTs with MSDS + Bassanis were running 15.4~5s.
Everyone got in about 10-15 runs that day.

I've clocked off multiple 6.2's

The reason for the great variation in 0-60 times is that it takes a shift to 3rd gear. Slow/sloppy shifting can easily change the times by a full second.

This is one of the big reasons why the 0-60 time is not a real indication of the acceleration capabilities of a MTX Duratec when comparing it to other cars.

I find that a little hard to believe being as you do not have a chip!

Even with a ton of mods I couldn't hit low 6's until my chip was reflashed with a higher redline. The reason. It takes a shift to 3rd.

Now if you are making more than 200FWHP & can stick it all to the ground on launching I might buy it sans chip.

Then again pointing downhill on a one way only pass may do it too...
