I finally got around to getting the readings for my check engine light. I know that I have a EGR problem but thought I also hadd an O2 sensor going bad. I was surprised by all the codes. Anyone know what all these mean?

Hard codes:53, 95, 39
Memory codes:11, 73, 32

thanks in advance,
Chris

Are you sure those are the codes? If you rearrange the commas, you'll get some good codes:

Hard: 539, 539
Memory: 117, 332

539 is Air Conditioning switched on during test

117 is Coolant temperature sensor- normal operating temperature not reached (run the engine until it's fully warm and this should go away. otherwise, just change it)

332 is EGR valve not opening

Get a Haynes manual if you can. It has this in it. smile

thanks,

I'll check out the haynes manual. I thought they should be 3 digits but it sure seemed like the timing was for 2 digits.
