OK, since I need new tires, I want good ones (I swear this car has gone through about a set a year!). I want a tire that can hold up to the way I drive (35 around a 15 curve), but with the snow here, and the fact that my driveway curves around and is slightly up hill, I need it to be fairly capable in the snow. First off, I want a good name brand tire. Right now, I have Ultrex, never heard of it. Something like Pirelli, Continental, Michelin, etc...second, what type? Grand Touring All Season? Performance All Season? High/Ultra High Performance All Season? Third...i needs to be a GOOD tire, like I said, this car has gone through about a set per year, and that's rediculous. Here's some that I have thought of...
Dunlop SP Sport 5000..........................$65 each
Dunlop SP Sport A2.............................$56 each
Michelin Pilot XGT V4............................$121 each
Pirelli P6000 Sport Volace.....................$63 each
Continental ContiTouring Contact CH95..$56 each
BF Goodrich Radial T/A.........................$55 each

Don't expect for any tire to last more than 20k miles if you drive like that often. IMO, either of the frist two are what I'd look at. Or, the Sumitomo HTR+. I have some HTR 200's and I love them. I'm even considering not using my Blizzaks this year despite the summer only and having a second set of wheels ready to bolt on. Anyway, they are cheap too.

I have these on my car and currently they have almost 40K on them and I am bad about taking care of my tires and have never rotated them and the fronts need to be replaced so I guess they are pretty good. (all 4 OEM tires had to be replaced before 50K and I did rotate them) I drive backroads and highways they are better in the snow than the orginal tires but I dont think they are that great in snow mmyself. My mom had some Michelin Pilot XGT V4 on her old taurus and I think they where better in the snow than the A2's
