Kenny are you refferring to the upper or lower mounts or all. I'm having the same problem, I replaced the lower F/R motor mounts and it's still there, the vibration that is. Does it when idling, settling to idle and around or up to 1100-1200rpm.

I actually hope its the motor mounts and not something trans/engine related....

If you can isolate which panel it is, try to remove it, put vaseline on the mounting point, and re-attaching it. But be warned -- removing the panel might make it worse!

Try ****ing into neutral, it helps on my 95 when it rattles.

I had the tensioner replaced on my 95gl and it cut down on the rattles alot. (mine does/did it also) My mechanic told me it may be motor mounts that tend to be bad on alot of contour/tiques, but the thing about the torque converter being locked up, I would disregard that as a problem... Whatever causes it is something that should be able to be fixed at a fairly low cost. It just depends if you can live with a little vibration or not, mine is so small now its not even worth it (to me) to fix.

I just realized what your problem is.
Someone else tried this and posted about it.

If the subframe goes out of line, you get the vibrations that you guys are describing.
You need to bring your car to a dealer and get a DRIVETRAIN ALIGNMENT.
This is different than a Wheel Alignment.

If just one of your engine/transaxle mounts are out of line with the subframe, then you get all kinds of noises, rattles, and vibrations.

I don't know if it is so much that (drivetrain alignment). IMHO, Having the drivetrain out of alignment would cause them once you got up to speed. My `96 does it at idle, but it comes back to the way the engine is running (poorly). It has some new spark plug wires coming for it (misfire problem) but right now the idle is slightly erratic.

I'll bookmark this thread and reply after the new wires go on. smile

Only at idle, in gear worse then out of gear, the more accessories that are on the worse it is. Right? That's what mine does. frown
