There is an 80k warranty on the cats. The information is in the factory warranty book that comes with the car. It should have been in the glove box with the onwers manual.

Well today I picked up my car from the dealer which replaced both precat exhaust manifolds, y pipe and catalytic converter. Total cost to me was 0.00 dollars! Car is a '95 GL 2.5L Mileage on my car is 122,000 miles.

Car did have a recall on it that was never performed! I have noticed a big difference in power and probably fuel consumption.

For whatever reason I did not have the warranty book in my car, I have the owners manual but could not find any kind of warranty book. Is there some way I can get a copy anywhere,(or print it from online) Sorry to keep bugging you guys but I really want to take something into the dealer to show him since they told me that this was not covered by anything.

Mr. DarkHorse,

Go into the Dealership and ask them what does your Emissions Warranty cover.
They should be able to tell you that...

The Emissions warranty is for 3yr/36,000 miles, same as the Bumper to Bumper warranty.
There is an 8yr, 80,000 mile warranty on the Diagnostic System, which INCLUDES the PCM (Computer), and ALL THREEE Catalytic Converters.
O2 sensors are on your dime.

I had the FORD Premium Care Warranty for 5yr/75,000 miles.
The Warranty replaced my Transaxle, Three Cats, 4 O2 sensors, A/C Compressor, Mass Air Flow, & IAC Motor.
All I had to pay was the $50 deductible.

If your extended warranty is NOT a FORD Warranty, then welcome to the Land of Warranty rip offs.

Never buy any extended warranty, unless it comes DIRECTLY from the Automobile Manufacturer.

Your entire job should be covered by the Ford Emission Warranty.

If the Service Manger doesn't agree, maybe you can persuade him to call FORD Customer Service and ask them for you, before YOU call them yourself.

Be nice, don't get upset, but remain firm, calm, and in control of the situation.
It will get you farther doing it this way.

After the job is done, make sure you pick the car up EARLY, and test drive it ASAP.
If there are any other problems related to the repair, it is better to get back to the dealer, the same day you pick up the car.

Go to this URL:

https://www.ownerconnection.com/FormsLoginSSL.asp?Make=Unbranded&Model=default&L=49&N=840

On the right side of the page are instructions for registration. Follow them. Ford may have the information that you are looking for for your car. You will need your VIN to register. It's a free service.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, I am going to go speak to the dealer this week to ask about the 8/80,000 emissions warranty. I also have the ford extended warranty and this is the one they told me would not cover it. Just wanted to say thanks again for all of your help.

Hey guys, well the dealer is going to replace my cats for no charge. My question is whether the original diagnosis should be refunded to me. They charged me $90 just to hook it up to the machine, and I believe I read somewhere that the emissions warranty covered replacing and all diagnostics. Thanks in advance for your help.

My CEL came on last summer and local Ford dealer said it was c.converter. They reprogrammed and lite went off. But it came back on Friday. Have a feeling it has tripped again. Dealer told me Ford has to cover c.converter for 100,000 miles. Sounds like the dealership owes you some money.
