I just got a '98 SVT and the car is sweet as all hell. Has 76,000 miles and works overall well. Right now i have two problems.

1.) when i start my car (usually in the morning) i get a LOUD annoying sound comming from my air filter. i can tap the gas and it'll go away. then i turn the wheel standing still and itll come back. when it was making the sound i unlatched the air filter (i also have an aftermarket K&N filter) and opened it up a little the sound got even louder. whats is gonna take?

2.) a couple times i tried to start my car and both times it didnt start i had to jump my car. my battery was tested and is perfect so i cleaned the terminals and it works a lil better. the other day i was drving doing about 40 and my car shut off and i rolled to a stop. the check engine light went on along with my battery light. it sucked. but i turned the key just for the hell of it and it started up no problem. what the hell is that about. it shut off once before this but it was right after i jumped it so i didnt think much of it at that time. it also started right up after that time too. how do i fix that?

Moosing and stalling are sometimes related. Could just be an IAC problem. I don't have that problem anymore but i can't point to one thing and say that was it.

Search the words "moosing" and "stalling".

Did this happen while it was raining? This has happened on my car while driving through a big puddle recently.

If it wasn't raining, then my guess would be a short somewhere. Check all of your wiring.

You can do also try wiggle test while the engine is running: grab each wire and wiggle it gently. If there is a short, then it should stall the car when you wiggle the bad wire. Just be careful of moving parts
