I have a question concerning synchros. Sometimes I have problems getting into 1st and reverse. Sometimes I have to put it in another gear and then get it where I want to. Was wondering would that be a synchros problem? or could it be something else?

Sounds like it could be. It may also be your clutch not disengaging all the way.

Every once in a while I can't get into first using slight pressure. So I will do like you said and go to another gear, after that it's fine. When I go into reverse I always go fourth then reverse. I have never had a problem with that.

Never ever force a gear into place. That could be the quickest way to a tranny rebuild.

1)Check/ bleed the clutch 2)On a cold start,let up the clutch after engine is running,blip throttle,depress clutch and engage gear 3)If 1 & 2 dont appear to work do the tranny cocktail 4) Yep its a/the syncos........

I'll have to check those things out. What exactly is the tranny cocktail?, and if it is synchros, how much does that run?

Engine/trans/subframe out...tranny strip,replace faulty parts etc etc dealer around 900-1100 plus parts puts you in the ballpark.......
