Okay... here goes.
My car is a 2000 SVT, 40000 miles. I have a kkm on it and thats about it. I change the oil regularly. about 10000 miles ago I had a problem where the car would start but would not Idle. If I put my foot on the gas it would run, but thats it. I checked the throttle body and sure enough it was coked up. I cleaned it thouroughly and reinstalled. That fixed it. Now its back allready, also the car is hesitating. Bad. I figure the carbon build-up is caused by the EGR, thats the only thing I can think of. But what could be causing the hesitation. I just cleaned the Air filter. I will admit though that it still has the original fuel filter. could this be the problem. I would also like to know if I was to make an EGR block off valve, might this hurt the car?? thanks for any replies

One more thing... my brake pads are going... any suggestions on a good aftermarket pad to use. I was thinking either mintex or EBC greens. It just seems a shame to do all the work and use factory parts.

Aww, Comon Terry, you know that Ford has never had an issue with IAC valves sticking.

Worst thing is, the culprits are probably in my building somewhere...

Also check your vaccum lines...I had the same problem where it wouldn't hold an idle and it hesitated and was idiling something aweful. I took it in to get it fixed and the cleaned the maf and replaced the vaccum line...my baby is all better now....just thought this might help with the diagnosis...

:p
