first i would like to thank mark niedermier for snding me my new b&m edge shifter so promptly......

and now to my problem:
i got everything apart and was reassembling the shifter when i broke the pivot shaft retaining clip mad now my car is stuck since i cant shift i called ford to see if the had one in stock and the a$$ pirate behind the phone said that the dont stock that and that all they had was the entire shift assembly and that that would be $140.00 eek mad eek needless to say i dont want to pay that what i needed was the part # for the little plastic retaining clip or at least confirmation that i can buy it alone so that i can get my car back on the road

thanks in advance

ps i have a 2000 svt but it should be the same as the others

I had an extra one, but I gave it to The Spatt, I will see if I can dig up a part # for it for you, it should be around $7

we are talking about the round sleeve looking thing that has little petals on it that grip the end of the pivot shaft, right?

It's all about balance.

The clip you talk about is a centering spring. Some people leave it in, some take it out. Your preference. And the assclown that said it was $140.00??? Tell him to pound sand. Try calling the dealership with this part number YS4Z-7K453-FA. That is your clip. It is listed for a Focus, but that is why they probably told you the BS. Anyways, if you search, you will find all this out and more. Good Luck....

I've been using a "c-clip" on mine for about five months now with no problems. You can get these at your hardware store for like a nickel. I've got the Ford part from Bill Jenkins but until I have problems it's staying in the bag.

Good luck.
