I am having a horrible round about with my car right now ..especially on right turns I am noticing a major problem. there is a sound coming from the wheel area that sounds similar to that of a baseball card in bike spokes however it is much louder and much more obnoxiouse. Has anyone heard of this happening on post 98 contours???? Please help with some ideas ..I have nowhere to start ...my brakes are bad but I doubt that has anything to do with it. Thanks guys and gals
Sounds like wheel bearings...a common prob on aging contours ...Is there any kind of pulsing when you apply the brakes? I had a strange clicking sound on my ZX2 brakes that was caused by loose caliper mounts...do you have ESP (Extended Service Plan)???
Here is a post from someone with similar problems...
Well thank you Art! I had a hunh of that problem on my left side recently. I hear that the replacement isnt to hard just dont quite know the procedure for doing it. Yeah ..heavy pull under acceleration and some definate snapping and pulsing is big!!!! I will give it a shot and see what happens thanks!
