Since we're bashing ugly, slow, and cheap compacts I would like to bring up the Honda Civic Si placing last(8th)in Sport Compact Cars recent test!
Best Buys for under 20,000 Ford Focus placed 3rd and the Mazda Protege turbo was 2nd, and without a doubt the SRT 4 placing first! But the SRT 4 has a stock dual exhaust, like our riced j-body above! All and all I think Ford/Mazda is really taking over the new compact scene, although cheap used hondas will continue to dominate the used compact scene until the Focus starts to age.
GM needs some help!
