I have a 1996 V6 Mondeo ,80,00 miles and manual.
I have noticed an increase in vibration through to the pedals in the last week or so.today the car refused to rev past 5,000 rpm and pinked noticibly under hard acceleration.If I keep it under 2'000 it runs fine and doesn't stall at all.
As soon as the revs rise over 3,000 it vibrates,sounds rough and won't rev
Any ideas anyone .It's beginning to feel expensive and electronic !!

First I'd blame the petrol. Then I'd get new sparkplugs. Only after I had drained the gasoline out and tried some new petrol, would i go for the sparkplugs. Do the least expensive things first!!!
The engine sounds like you may have put Diesel fuel in you Mondeo.
