Ok, im still a college student so this is not really gonna happen any time in the near future due to time and money shortages. I have only started to really get into cars in the past two or three years(hence getting the SVT) however other than what i have learned from reading these forums and various magazines and books, im still pretty ignorant about cars. I have helped a friend of mine out on some work like replacing a fuel pump and radiator on an old bmw, neither seemed too tough as far as skill, but i couldnt have done them all alone with out direction.

Im sure that you will just pass me off as an ignorant newbe(which is not entirely false), but i really want to do some serious work to my car. i would love the power that a 3L conversion would give, but more than that, what i would really love is the satisfaction of doing at least most of it myself. if this project would be going in way over my head, are there any other things that i could do other than simple bolt ons like the KKM. Assume that money is not object(even though it is) right now im just concerned with the difficulty of this project. thanks in advance and keep in mind that i love cars no less than any of the most experienced members of this sit, and any help or advise would really be appreciated.

I'm in college, I did it. When I was in the dorms, I did quite a few things on the car in the parking lot.

i went to fremd hs until senior year when i had to move to st louis cause of my dad's job. it sucked having to leave home, but i got the SVT in st louis so there is a certain amount of compromise. over breaks, though i do spend as much time as possable at my friends house who lives like 1/4 mile from harper jr college.

I was looking at some of the other posts in this section and they seemed pretty comprehensable, and im still pretty confident that this might be a doable summer project for me. Im still reading all of this and ive got the haines repair manuel so ive learned the engine pretty well. By no means do i think that this will be an easy undertaking, but none the less, i still want to do it. not to mention, that a nice 250hp would be awsome.

Import, if you are wanting things installed, I'm located in Des Moines and do work out of my garage. We can do everything from suspension intalls, to bolt-ons, to full out engine swaps. Drop me a line if you ever need anything.

I wannna I wanna. If i only had my car. It hurts to see all of these honda pussys cruisen around campustown and not being able to show them what a real car looks like. Im counting the minutes untill this thursday when my pops is bringing the car up and then we are driving down for break. Im gonna have it between thanksgiving and christmas to save the miles of him driving back and then up again to get me. Im gonna work my ass off to get to keep it after that too. so maybe in those few weeks that i have it, ill come down or if i get to keep it, ill make the ride. Maybe there might be a free 3l in it for me. . . comon wink wink. No oh, ok. Just let me know if there are any meeting during that time and ill try to find some free time.
