i think i messed something up.
i replaced my stock throttle body - with an optimized throttle body from bnmotorsports.

so i replaced it, i start the car up - it idled at 2K...then settled down at 1K. too high for me.

the weird part is that when i just "touch" the gas pedal, it goes all the way up to 2000-2200rpm and hangs around there until it drops suddenly to 1K again.

I have the BAT intake pipe and never experienced the throttle hang before in this car (over 1 year now) and it wasn't acting that way before replacing it.

any suggestions?

yeah - i reset the computer....still happened.

i went for a drive and it seemed good while driving.
the idling is strange though -
it'll idle now ~750rpm which is good.

if i blip the throttle, the rpm's go up to 2k, stay there for about 5 seconds, then start to drop slowly to about 1200rpm, then go back up to 1800rpm, then back down 1200, and continues to do that for a few times, then it suddenly drops down to ~1000rpm.

i obviously messed something up - i just don't know what.

however, when shifting, the rpms drop real quick to about 1200rpm.....

anyone have any ideas?

i parked the SVT away for the time being. its sh*tty here in New England so I won't be driving her this weekend anyway.

you didn't mess anything thing up.
its the down fall of a bigger TB.
Rough Idle and Throttle Hang..
it happened to my Stang when i jumped to a 70mm
at first i went with a MAC one and it was really bad so i swaped it out with a Ford Racing Performance Parts one and it was alittle less noticible at first but as time went on it would become more noticible

its not a bigger tb, its just optimized....i can't see it happening this much. maybe i'm wrong but damn, this idling sucks.

anyone else with the optimized tb have this issue?

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me somewhere.. Definantly an install issue. Go over all your connections, make sure you plugged in your MAF and all other sensors.

I installed an SVT TB along with the rest of the SVT intake track on my cougar and never had an idle problem.

You may want to double check the operation and settings of your TP sensor.

how can i do that?

i actually drove the car today (sh*tty weather here in New England) and it drives fine. response is nice and sharp - but its this idle.

do you have any suggestions on figuring out if the settings are incorrect on the TP Sensor?
