Have a mechanic do it. The back cylinder bank is almost against the firewall and without a lot of complex tools (the kind that form elbows and the like) it's not worth it.....

It's not too hard to do, I did it in less then 1 hour, 6 plugs and ford motorsport 8 mm wires. To get the ones in the rear i first took a spark plug rachet head (it is a deepwell with a piece of rubber on the inside to grip the end of the plug to help pull it out)and attach a 6 in extention and slid them into the plug hole. Then i attached a 2 in extension to that along with the wrachet. Loosen the plug with the wrachet untill you can spin it by hand. to remove, disconect the 2 in ext from the 6 in ext, then pull the 6 rest out. If that dosen't help try this link.http://www.contour.org/mods/mods.cgi?s=howto&display=plugs

MRCRXTRA is right.

I also did my plugs the same way, and it is very easy.
I installed Platinum +4s, and Blue FordMotorsport 9MM wires.

Just make sure that you change the plugs on a COLD engine.
We have aluminun heads, and it is easier on a Cold Engine.

Easy. hey, if I can do it, then anyone can do it (I don't have experience working on cars, other than the mods you see below). I changed my plugs in about an hour tops. I did have to remove the distributor box to get in there, but it comes off with 4 bolts. I didn't have any major problems. Use the tools that MRCRXTRA mentioned (the 6" extension and the spark plug rachet head). Good luck!

Y2K-SVT,

If you've only got 30K miles I wouldn't even bother,
with the plugs and wires.
I changed mine at 60K.

But @ 30K miles, the Cabin Air Filter, and your Fuel Filter, should be changed.

Exactly... There is a wealth of information already on the main site.

Took me about 1 hour to do plugs & wires and I was being very detail oriented...

Simple job with a metric socket set.

You've got to be kidding me. I must be pretty special. I did mine with a regular socket set and an extension.
