Not only have SVT owners removed the door ding guards.
What I did was pull the ding guards by creating a little bit of a handle to pull on with a credit card that I shoved between the molding and the door. What i whould have done is not just pull the ding guards straight off, but use the credit card to remove as much of the adhesive as possible as I pulled them.
I ended up spending about two hours slowly removing the extra adhesive with the credit card and cleaning up the small spots that was left with "Goof Off" followed by a wash and a wax.
Goof Off will not work if a lot of the adhesive is still there...in fact, it can make the adhesive remeains more difficult to remove. By the time I made it around to the passenger side, I had stumbled upon the method of working up a little of the adhesive and pulling on it gently as I worked the credit card back and forth, loosening a little more adhesive at a time.
Experiemnt...it will come to you.
