Its already a reality, a few manufactures have already stated they will produce cars with the 42v system. One thing is for sure, amps will really be able to get some high output without as bad of a drain on the system.

42V DC is by no means idgiot proof, but chances of getting electricuted by 42V over 12V are pretty rare.

I think at 50v, or something around there, an electrical shock can stop your heart. 42v was determined to be the highest "safe" voltage to use.
