anybody know what amount of overbore can be done to the 2.5 duratec and has anybody had the crankshaft offset ground to create more stroke. i dont know much about what effect this kind of thing has on the computer and what kind of trouble the computer chip would have if i did this. i am also intending to get a set of custom cams.

The cast iron cylinder sleeves don't lend themselves to overboring. Those that want a bigger bore have just gone to the 3.0 block. Many who have done the 3.0 conversion have gone to the 3.0 heads with their larger valves as well. The SHO SHOP has a stroker kit to turn a 3.0 into a 3.5.

Stay around this board for a while and you will learn answers to most of your questions. Brad Noon has a source for cams as well as forged rods IIRC. There is a forum dedicated to the 3.0 conversion.
