i noticed this weekend that when i floor the accelerator, the throttle does not open all the way. if you push it open the rest of the way, with the pedal still floored, it will stay open. i tightened the throttle cable as tight as it would go and still allow the throttle to shut. i also ground the back of the pedal to allow more travel thinking this would help. it did not. is this a problem with the geometry of the pedal or the connecting bracket for the throttle body and the throttle cable? anyone else experience this problem?

What year/engine

There was a recall on some early throttle cables.

it is a 95 and i have the new throttle cable, but my own theory is that the throttle cable never stuck like the recall said, but it was really the pedal sticking to the floor mat. i removed the floor mat after losing my 3rd gera synchro to save my engine when it stuck once, and since then the throttle has never stuck.

If either end of the cable sleeve can move it could act like that - stupid plastic clips.
