Smoothy, if you are still waiting for this info, the thermostat can be found to the right of the cylinder head, hidden under the resonator. There's a black block with an electric connector out the top and three coolant hoses/pipes off in different directions. Take out the hoses and the thermostat will be hiding behind one.
The only trick is make sure you drain the coolant down far enough so it doesn't come gushing out when you take hoses off.
