Almost did it.
BUT... There was only one problem - speedo cable. I didn't figure out how to unplug it and without unpluging the cluster stays unremovable. Good news I found at least two lams don't work.
Can you advice please how to undo that speedo cable?
Thanks!

Thanks, SVTCANUK!
Do you know by any chance how to unplug that speedometr cable? I cannot unplug it from the cluster and therefore cannot reach the lamps.

Good you've now identified year and model, unfortunately you've got one of the problems I warned about.
Both mine are electric speedos so I've no firsthand experience with mech ones on Contours. However, if you can't get access from under dash then you'll have to disconnect cable in the engine compartment. It's 2 separate cables joined just before firewall. Again, with all the air hoses, etc., not easily accessible. Once you separate at joint then you should be able to push and/or pull (gently)from dash side, to get enough of the cable into the cabin to give you clearance to work. Pay attention to cable's firewall grommet and ensure it's ok on completion.
Good luck.

I pulled the dash apart yesterday to change some bulbs myself. Had the same problem with the speedo cable, but it came loose after some pulling on the speedo unit. To attach it back I had to access it from underneath lying on my back in the footwell under the steering column. You can see the tip of the speedo where the cable attaches from that angle and makes it much easier to reattach. Just push the cable back onto the speedo. It clicks in place, you'll hear a click. Hope this helps.
Also, couldn't find the bulb at Autozone, so I went to the local stealership. They didn't have either and claimed they could only order in quantities of 10...Said Ford ahd discontinued the bulbs.............Its a crappy stealership.

Thanks guys. Today I had enough guts to pull the cluster hard and cable was pulled out just to the range of hand-reach. So I was able to unplug it and change the lams and even plug it back without going under.
Now my baby is perfect (almost, sure).
By the way dealer has only 3 lamps in stock ($1.99 CAD each). I wasn't in the mood to look enywhere else so just bought them all.
Thanks again everybody for the tips!
