Does anyone else have this problem? I've had the car at the dealership before under warranty repair and they claim they replaced an internal piece that supposedly deflects water that gets inside the door to the exterior of the car (provides a means of drainage). However, in my case the water is getting inside the car. I'm not completely sure where the water is actually coming in. Once the rain dies down, I'll pull the door panel off and inspect. My driver side carpet is soaking wet!
If anyone has experienced this problem please let me know what you did to correct it. Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I had a similar problem, Ford replaced the rubber seal/strip that runs along the bottom of the door. There are also weep holes that need to be kept clear in the bottom of the door for proper drainage. Make sure there's nothing blocking them otherwise water will puddle in the door and seep into the car, no tot mention you might have rust problems eventually. If that still doesn't fix it, Bill Jenkins sells Mondeo rubber door seals, you put them almost where a sill protector would go. Stops ANYTHING from getting in. Chris Arslanyan has them. What ford did worked for me though.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it. Once the rain stops, I'll be able to look at the items you discussed.
Thanks,

I'll be sure to do the same while I am crawling under the car tomorrow. Water "puddling" under the driver's door is exactly my problem.

It never stunk up my car, but it started happening around summer time so I always had the windows open anyway and it dried pretty quick. One thing that did bother me was after a rainy night or damp night I would com eout and the freaking windows would be all fogged up from the inside!

I had this exact same problem recently. The water was coming in at the very bottom of the door and running over the interior plastic door sill. I did some searches on this site to see if anybody else had had this problem and eventually concluded that I had a problem with the polyshield. It appears that the problem with our doors is that the glue that holds the polyshield (a thin foam-like sheet that covers the entire interior of the door) has a tendancy to come un-glued. I took the door panel off to to investigate and hopefully fix the problem and found that my polyshield was unglued in a number of places particlarly along the bottom of the door and that it was also soaked in one place in particular where it seemed the water was coming from. I attempted to fix the problem by re-glueing the polyshield where there were gaps with some RV sealer/adhesive. I didn't think I had done a very good job and suspected that I would have to replace the whole polysheild but we have had 2-3 hard rains since then and I have had no water on the floor of my car. One word of advice, if attempting to remove the door panel definitely go to the "Door Speaker Install" thread in the Capital CEG branch directory for some essential tips.

You are right! I pulled off the door panel today and found that the polyshield is coming unglued from the skeleton. Where can I buy this adhesive you are referring to? Or, could someone else recommend another type of adhesive I can pick up from a home center?
Thanks!

You just need something that will work as a sealant and an adhesive glue. Shouldn't be too hard to find. I got mine from AutoZone I think- but any auto parts or even hardware store should have it.
