Does the check engine light come on at all?

If it does, I would recommend you see what codes are being displayed.

I have a 95 GL 2.5L myself. You could have a vacuum leak, could be a sensor - check engine light would help identify what the problem is....

When did the problem appear? Have you had this problem very long?

Wondering if maybe you've gotten to the point of carbon buildup that it's causing your stalling at idle. Get yourself into a warm garage and try taking off the airbox and looking into the throttle body. See if it's all sludgy.

check for a vacuum leak, possibly a mass air flow concern.

You can buy a can of spray decarbonizer or carburetor cleaner from the Ford Dealer. I have read here that they sell this over the counter and it works quite well. You just remove the rubber bellows from your throttle body and open your throttle plate and spray this solution into the throttle body and let it sit for 20 minutes or so. Then start of the car and see how it runs.... I've never used this but am planning to next weekend.

Snow? What is snow..I'd give up some greenbacks for some snow in Austin!!!!

I've had a very comparable problem to this recently. The check engine light had been coming on but the car has run okay. When it started to idle rough and sometime stall when I came to a stop I took it to a local dealer for a diagnosis of the check engine light. They told me that it was the mass air flow sensor and they could fix it (including the 70 bucks to diagnose the problem) for a mere $371. I changed myself for about $70 but it didn't fix the problem.
