Found a place that sells the Contour headlight assembly other than Ford. The AutoParts Counter at Walmart, Square One in Mississauga (some kind of partnering) sells headlight assemblies (all years). About 190 CDN for the 98-00 models compared to Ford's $277 CDN. Factor in taxes and that is $217 compared to $319 each. I have polished my originals more than once but tabs are broken and plastic has deep crazing so... it is time to replace.
I know they are available in the states for about 106 US (161 CDN at 1.52 exchange) but factor in shipping and duty and you are looking at the same kind of cost etc. Also warranty issues are a factor in any US purchases.
I have purchased many parts through them many of which are cheaper than most other outlets (but not all). They also carry the Purolator PureOne oil filters, Raybestos brakes and Philips bulbs. From the catalogue I saw for lights it looks like they can get many other body related parts and lights.
Has anyone seen another source or lower prices in the GTA or southern Ontario?
