just remember this is all that is giving you power to the wheels:

all it take is one too many launches to break it... and you will be stilling still

so far I have been really easy on the car, no more clutch drops like before, If I engage the clutch fully then give it gas It seems to be okay, I used to like to power shift, It feels like if I do that something is definately gonna break, I give myself abut the end of winter I will need a new differential. I hope the clutch can hold out for a while.

just keep this in mind man dont wait till it breaks get the parts and upgrade asap because there are NO MORE MTX-75 trannies out there so your would have to be patched and repaired , and if you diff breaks like mine did it will blow even damn gear in the trans and probably make a few holes in the caseing too....

trust me... iv gone through a few trannies, they suck. never ever drop the clutch... even at the track... you are doing nothing but spinning tire.. therefore you are raising your et's.. either way dont abuse the car... with the power you are making, [censored] will break.

one question.. you said that the car was detonating untill you put some 100 octane in it? id go right back to street stuff... you dont know how dangerous detonation is when you have a power adder... if it still does that with 93 octane then your motor wont be holding up together for much longer

I fixed the detonation, street stuff didn't tighten the hose clamp on the blowoff valve or the main intake pipe, both flew off during boost, once that happened and I tightend the clamps, detonation doesn't occur on 93 octane. Vortech said air leaks will cause detonation, Street Stuff sucks and I most likely will end up in small claims court with them. I will never go back to street stuff and it is likely now that vortec will not let them sell anymore Vortec s/c's. I was taken advantage of and recieved shotty work. Street Stuff is going to pay dearly. Vortec and my bank one, are going to contact them shortly, as well as my lawyer.

It is funny, I was in Street Stuff yesterday (getting some parts) and Grant (I don't know who you dealed with) mentioned something about your car when I told him what car I had. He said he talked to someone in California that specializes in SHOs and asked how long does a SC install take in a Contour and he said 25 HOURS! And that guy in Cali said he wouldn't even touch it. Give them (SS) more credit he said it was the first time they had done a SC in a Contour.

See how much credit you give them when they charge 52 hrs at $79 a hour and, when you get the car two main air lines break. If I didn't have any mechanical skill I would have needed a tow twice. I got no love for street stuff.
