I've read the FAQ on the hanging revs problem and any of the former posts that are still around but I have a different though possibly related problem. I've just purchased a 98 SVT and am making a list for the dealer of things to fix. In my case, not only do the revs not decrease between shifts, they actually jump up a thousand revs while the clutch is depressed. No, my foot isn't on the gas. This normally happens after the engine is warmed up and I shift at anything over about 2500 rpms. I guess my questions would be, is this the same problem and if so, would the same fix work? My dealer will probably say it is normal since it is a byproduct of the environmental control systems. I hope not because it's very bothersome. Thanks in advance for you replies! Karl.

Thanks Andy. I'll put that on my list. Since it is most likely a sensor problem, it could be the reason my CEL is on. The engine displays no other blantant drivability problems. I'm also going to get a code scanner so I can check some of these things out in the future. Right now, everything is under warranty.

Mine did that too. The throttle hang "fix" worked like a charm. Its in the "how to"
section of the main board.

Thanks SVTee. I looked at "the fix" yesterday before I posted my original post. I wanted to see what it entailed. I'll see what the dealer does about it (if anything) and then take it from there.
