I now notice that my courtesy lights do not function when I open the door. If I lock the door and pull on the exterior handle the lights do come on and stay on for 30 seconds or so. Any suggestions?

Check the door switch. My lights weren't coming on, the door switch was a little corroded. I took it out,cleaned it off and retightened the screw. It works great now.

Not sure if thisn applies but when I replaced my dome light with the kind with individual spot lights I lost the footwell lights. Thjere was no way to mess up the wiring so I can not explain it.

Richard, thanks for the tip! That's what the problem was..... I'll be fixing it this weekend.

Now I wonder how much the dealer would have charged me to....................

Mine freezes wonderfully in the winter. Sucks really bad as my wife and I lock the keys in the car more because we don't here the chime!

I have had to bring my car in twice for the courtesy lights....the first time they would just stay on and not turn off.

After they fixed that everything works fine except for the same issue you have...If I open the driver door after driving the light does not turn on. I haven't paid attention if I open the door to get in though. If I ever figure it out I will let you know.....

Anyone else experience similar problems as those discribed in this thread and have found a fix?
