Not a problem, just a question. I was looking at buying some Eibachs but am a little hesitant because I have heard that they can cause some FLOAT with some cars if the shocks arent tight enough. What I mean is, should I upgrade all my handling aspects first or is it safe to install? Does anyone have them on thier SVT and could they let me know if they are pleased with the results. Thanks

Its a good idea to replace the stock struts with better aftermarket struts when installing aftermarket springs. This should avoid the "float" you describe.

I used to have Eibachs on my car with the ST200 struts, and they were fine. I didn't find it floaty at all. If you did want to get new struts, get the ST200's. They are a bargain right now from BAT, and great value for the money.

I have Eibachs on my 98 SVT. I also have Koni 5-way adjustable shocks (yellows). I would definetly buy new shocks/struts that are suited to a lowered vehicle height. This applies to any vehicle, not just our cars.... I have lowered without better shocks/struts before, and I think the handling of the car was adversely effected. Definetly consider new shocks/struts.
I have 18's on my car with Eibach/Koni setup and the car handles and rides amazingly.

i've read on this site that lowering springs will wear out stock struts quickly, especially older ones...i am not positive about this but the st200 struts are stock (on mondeo) so wouldn't the lowering springs also cause these to wear (prematurely)?

the best bet im my opinion would be to get the eibach's and koni adjustables or some other aftermarket strut that can handle lowering springs

Either the Konis or the BAT struts, which are a lot cheaper than Konis

Yes pretty adversly affected. My car litterally hops at high speeds around a corner (have 17's) It's unconfortable and rides rough (not to the extreme, but defanately not like stock). I'm too cheap to buy new struts and have somone install them for me, tryin to save up for the Mazda 6
