I just had the recall work done on my car (99se). The dealership did not install a new dash! They installed a reinforcement kit. confused

I'm selling the car and a potential buyer had it inspected at the time, the problems they found are another story for another time. mad

I took my car back because the dash is starting to warp a little, but nothing major. The Ford people said that it was fine and that the fix was just some clips that they stick in. Should I mangle my dash so I can get a better one? And what happens if my dash ends up warping really bad down the road? Does the recall cover from now until whenever or is it a limited offer?

confused i have the tan interior and my dash is a DARKER shade of tan than my interior! I swear 50% of the crack smuggled across the US border goes straight to FORD!

The color difference is on purpose to reduce glare/reflections...

Yes, using the DARKER tan to reduce glare is an obvious benefit but according to JSmith his dash is LIGHTER than the rest of his tan thus making the glare argument a mute point and the "Ford is on crack" argument a valid one.

I had mine replaced on October. My car was at the dealer for about a week...it needed other attention also.
I did have to take it back to the dealer for the dash again. It rattled and squeaked real bad.I think they forgot to tighten it down. Now it is real quiet.
I have a grey interior. No backlog when mine was replaced... or... I got someone else's dash.
