Ok this past wednesday im driving and the car just shuts off while im going to work out at my gym, my stereo turns on the car will not work. I leave it be for awhile the car stops again I make it half way back home car stops again I pull into a plaza...The car will not start again...I end up having it towed to a service place they tell me my battery is dead fine they replace that pick up the car it works fine on thursday friday and saturday...until tonite i am taking my friend home things happen again car stops I pull over. This time i try to start engine turns over goes for a little bit then just quits. I get a CEL and everything else lights up, BUT my stereo still worked while I sat and waited for the man to tow my car again...Any ideas guys? Any help is apprecitated.

need to get the alternator checked out...

A couple of other things, before my car quit the engine seemed like it wasnt getting enough gas like i was stompin on the gas and it was hesitating then just quit, and my other question is would the stereo still work with a bad alternator?

Yes because there is still juice in the battery. Probably not enough to start it.

What do your headlights look like? Are they dimmer than normal, because if they are the alternator probably fried the battey again.

If thats not the problem have the fuel pump checked out, it could have went out.

took it back in today they say i need a new fuel pump...
