Hope someone can help me here. From inside the car there is an awful squeaking noise coming from the back seat area everytime I go over a bump or any little pothole, etc. The car is not old- only 2000 SVT. Could my rear springs be bad already? Any suggestions, its really annoying.

Mostly likely time to lube the rear swar bar.
Use a marine grease (resists water)

I agree, sounds like sway bar bushings are dried out. Had same problem. Greased the bushings and alls quiet now.

I have the same problem but I'm getting the 19mm sway bar soon anyway. I know you get polyurethane bushings. Do I have to anything with those?

Even poly bushings will cause squeaks after a while. I've got the SP Motorsports bar and bushings.

I had a recall performed on my '98 tour on the gas tank fuel filler valve. They where required to drop the gas tank from under the car.

When the tank was reinstalled the heat shield was rubbing on the top of the sway bar. They couldn't get the heat sheild posistioned correctly so I just bent the tab that was rubbing back.

It was a very high pitched sweak almost like a sweaking bed spring.
