Hello all,

I had posted a question in mid-November asking what a specific part was that seemed to be sitting loose in it's cradle. Terry Haines and others had guessed that it was my transmission mount. Turns out unfortunately that they were correct. (unfortuanate for me that is)

I am convinved that this part which needs to be replaced, was damaged by Ford in June when they replaced my clutch (I double checked with another mechanic at a different Ford dealership to make sure that they would have had to remove this part to do the cluthc repair and they said "yes."

Now my problem is in trying to convince Ford that it was damaged by them on something that was repaired five months ago. Any suggestions? I would have gone in sooner, but I did not want to go back to that specific dealership as they had messed up two other items in the same visit to get my clutch repaired. I am positive that they ruined the part somehow, but do not know how to go about getting myself heard. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nope...only the three nuts need to be removed from the trans mount on top of the box to drop the subframe/engine-trans assy.the bolts and mount assy can be left on the side rail.....

Terry,

Was the other mechanic just wrong then? He didn't really hesitate in his answer...did he answer without thinking about it maybe? How bad is it that I have been driving around for a few months with this busted?

I just picked up my car after having the same mount/support replaced. I'm pretty sure mine happen during one of my less then perfect downshifts at the track, I luckily noticed it while changing my air filter.
I agree it's going to be a hard sell after five months. Terry can clarify this but with a little patience it did not appear that this would be terribly difficult to install once you jack up the trans, it's only one bolt. I did not look at it very closely so I could have missed something.
