I should have gotten a picture of the civic's front end, it's this awfull baby blue and looks like some mutant integra

I'm curious as to if the plate on the white nissan is actually a representation of the engine's "explosion point".

The Civic and Prelude looks ok. Although I'd have to see the front of the Civic if it's as awful as you state. The rest is rice.
