EASY???? OK what are you smoking??? replacing the cams is not an easy job... changing the sparkplugs or wires that's an easy job.... I think you will find there is a little more work involved than you think like taking off the timing belt and then removing the cam gears and then the cams along with all the parts needed to take off to get to these... I would guess a cam changes is a full days of work or more considering the timing belt is about 8 hours to do....

Even if you don't have the answer, you certainly have to admire the problem.

Not trying to start a fight...but I can change my timing, including the waterpump in about 3 hours. I think I have had to replace my waterpump about six times...I could do it with my eyes closed. Cheap pumps!!!!!!

I took my time. It was a pain in the ass though.

I agree completely with contour39191, when I did my cam gears and W/P it took maybe 4 hours with beer and smoke breaks, however I do use pneumatic(sp?) tools.

I worked at a ford dealership for a few years and always had to work on zetecs. The top end is the easiest part of the car to work on in my opinion. Timing belt is supposed to take 8 hours to do but that is because ford always over rates all of their work hours to make money(stupid ford service). With all of my tools I can take the top end off in about 2hours and 15 minutes(I timed it). The only tough part about the zetecs is getting the cams set just right so you don't have a piston smash into a valve when you crank it over. But anyway these cams do look awesome 7-20 horsepower at the flywheel is pretty respectable for just camshafts.
Other mods in the future are changing from a atx to mtx. It's really not as hard as people say it is(if I've done my research correctly.) Sorry for the long post, just wanted to say my piece.
Also, this is on a 95 Mystique, I have not seen many of these cars modified much but, I am also a body man of sorts so fitting a svt body kit wouldn't be that difficult. And I like to be different.

Thanks for the info. I am more confident about this project now.
