I know you can get a contour with the 170hp 2.5 Duratec, but what size engine is in the SVT? And...just out of curiosity, whats the 0-60 time of an unmodified SVT?

To expand on this a little, the SVT is the 2.5L Duratec with different cams, fuel injectors, intake, etc. The non-SVT 2.5L is 170bhp while the SVT is 200-205bhp.

Actually, in '98 the SVTs had 195 hp, '98.5-99 had 200, and '00 had 205. IIRC

Welcome to CEG!

Ahhh... I didn't know that about the E0. I thought the E0 and E1 were both 200. Thanks for the correction!

Both 98's are 195 HP.

The 99 and 00 are 200 HP.

The 00 has slightly less displacement (very slightly smaller bore) with slightly higher compression to compensate for the smaller bore (10.25:1 instead of 10.00:1).

There has not been a 205 HP 2.5 produced for the US market. It may have been for the ST200 Mondeo. Please don't quote from the electronic Ford service manuals because someone screwed up and updated all the SVT engines to have 205 HP (including the 98's).

All of this was well documented as the evens unfolded, but it has become murky as time has passed.
