this is gonna sound weird so bare with me. On Satuday my car would barely start( It sat up over 20 hours)when it started the air bag light started flashing, the pattern is 3-5 or 5-3. When I got to my destenation to the store to purchuse stuff the airbag light didn't flash so I thought maybe it flash because it was sitting in the cold. well today it started to flash the same code but when I restarted the car it stopped again. Can anyone tell me what the code is. Also want to know why it is hard to start when cold. I also put in heet(gas line water remover) in the tank and it still is hard to start.

how old is your battery? airbag code may be related to an old battery believe it or not

I just had the same thing happen, after leaving the lights on for 30-45min (too bad the 'your lights are on' warning isn't a bit more forcefull). Anyway, on restart, I was getting blinked at by the airbag light, '53' was the code. After a bit of driving, and a restart, the blinking hasn't returned.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the battery is at least 2 years old...

Where could I find a list of these 'flash
codes'?

well, the battery is only a 1 old. What is the warrenty for fords OEM battery because we couldn't find any aftermarket battery.

I checked the battery and it is normal. I want to check my alternator but I don't see how. Can someone tell my how on a 95 Zetec.

Go to your nearest parts chain and ask for a free electrical check.

The altenator is good. this morning the car wouldn't start until it was jumped. the battery tested good with my multimeter, why is it not starting the car when it is cold? I need help badly.

1yo battery is most likely still under warranty. there are two batteries available from ford, but no matter which one of the two you've got it should still be covered iirc. get it replaced just in case.
