I'm looking for advice on how to realign my driver's side foglamp on my 2000 Contour SVT. It was pushed out of alignment during a routine hand wash in my driveway. Now, the driver's side foglamp beam is about 6" higher than the passenger side one from about 6' away. When I'm about 4' from my closed garage door with the lights on, the difference in height is visually noticible. Plus, I've been flashed by a few oncoming vehicles on the road as the beam must be in their eyes. It is rocked back, leaving about a finger width's gap at the top between the ground effects/bezel and the actual lamp, while the passenger side one is perfectly flush with the plastic. Has anyone had to correct this problem or switched out the entire assembly? I know there's an access panel on the bottom of the car behind the lamp, but I haven't been able to remove the plastic plugs that hold it in and I don't want to tear or ruin anything. Is it easier to remove the headlamp and go in that way? Has anyone had any luck with this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well since noone else has helped you yet, I guess I could say something... Remember though, I have never done this, but try tapping on it at the bottom of the lens with your fingers, see if it gives at all... If it does give, keep going until it is straight or you break it, one of the 2 will happen lol Sorry I can't be more helpful...

Oh and the access panels underneath you can just pull them off, that's how I get mine off, then they snap right back in place...

I just cut both of those access doors off on my car. And that screw is really easily accessable under that door. If you don't want to go the route I did, then just tear those clips out carefully, and if you break them just go get some new clips. Many autoparts stores have assortments of plastic retainer clips, but if you couldn't find the right ones, go to Ford dealer and order some of the exact ones for like a couple bucks. Or just put some screws in instead

Thanks, I tried the fix by hand, but it won't rock back to place, that's what worries me. I don't know why it rocked back so easily, but it won't go back to place, and I don't want to break the assembly. I'll try a little more mustard pulling the access panel off. Thanks!

Sorry I can't be of more help, I've never had this problem... I guess I could go out and look at mine, see if I can find anything that might help...

I had noticed on my foglights that there is a adjustment screw accessable from under the light itself. The hole for the screw is just in front of the two mounting screws. The hole is just big enough for a screwdriver to fit. Try turning it one way or the other to see what it does. It should raise or lower it the angle of the light. I was playing around with this a little bit when I had taken the fogs off of my old 'Tour and was putting them on my brothers 'Tour. Hope I am not too late on the info.
