Can I do the 3.0 swap to my 98 svt and still retain two complete running cars? My wife has given me the ok to drop the 2.5 in her esacape and the 3.0 in the svt "as long as there are no problems"
you know too that kenne bell makes a roots type blower that sits on top of the escape 3.0? that would be sweet, but you might need to make a bubble in your hood. think about that. peace.
the keane beel s/c will not work in a cougar/contour.... the s/c runs off the accessory system and well since you change that when doing a swap it will not work... the escape accessory system sticks out about 3" more than ours do and i'm sure the s/c does the same.... the s/c drive would actually be in interference with the upper motor mount.... in conclusion... NOT an option

Man...I would stray away from this thought....No one has ever "down swapped" a 3.0 to 2.5....Might be some problems..Problems that NO ONE knows of. The warranty will be toast on the escape and it will have less power. Why would you do that?? You also would have 2 cars down...and what if something happens and one or both and they are down for a long time? You can pick up a new 3.0 for around a grand...do that and save yourself a HUGE hassle!
