The Cougar S was shelved when Ford handed the Cougar its walking papers... Plain and simple.

I always liked the look of the cougar. Does anyone know how the v6 5speed compares to the SVT as far as performance and speed?

Yes but that was only a recent development. During the Cougar S development period, SVT was Ford-only.

It would be considered a hair quicker than a normal Contour being as it is a tad lighter in vehicle weight. The both use the same 2.5L Duratec.

Demon are you sure the Cougar is lighter than a Contour??? The reviewers over here bagged the Duratec Cougar because it weighs 1466 kilos -whereas my ST24 weighs 1368 kilograms with the same engine....

Dosn't the Maurader have the Cobra engine?
Doesn't the Cobra use a modified Lincoln Mark VIII engine? Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
