it's cool, they told me it will take a while to get the parts and told me till then just drive it. seeing as i don't drive the SVT that often, i'm not worried about further damage or watever is going on in there.

They said mine should be all done on thursday. We'll see :rolleyes:

Dead on both. I've had it both ways. A lot more painful when its on your own dime.

I took mine in 3 weeks ago and all parts came in on schedule without delay last week. Not sure what Ford is telling you but I got my parts no prob.

It depends on what parts are needed.In most cases its impossible to 'guess' until its stripped.Have said in the past that only the Cougar now uses the V6 MTX75, most of the 'redesigned' newer level parts only go into the Mondeo trans and most of those parts have to come from Europe.Holding off taking the car in wont help because odds are there will be a part they need that has to be ordered...

Anyone manage to get this fixed under the extended warranty? I have 37K on my 98 and get the grinding occasionally on good shifts (but 3rd gear shifting now feels like it has 2 detents to go through ). Basically have to schedule a dealership visit for the gas tank flapper issue - and would like to get this done too. I have the 5yr/75K extened.

Is there an Service Bul. on this I can reference?

my svt has been in the dealership for over two months waiting on transmission parts. i have to sit tight till after the holidays. both my second and third gear were grinding. no mater how slow i shifted. this really bites
