Well today I was going around a long, sharp, right hander and all the sudden I felt this sudden jerk and I heard this popping sound up on the right front of my car...

I drove around for about an hour and it keeps on making this same popping sound and gives me a sudden jerk.....

The funny thing is it only does it on right hand turns!!!!

I love this car but, but ,but .........

Please help

oil starvation on right hand turns, I'd stop doing them dude until some experts pipe in here. . .unless you have an accusump and a gauge that reads your oil pressure, don't screw up your engine. . .

Sounds like a bad CV joint or possibly control arm bushings.

Stop driving it and start inspecting it already!

how much does it cost to replace a CV joint? I think mine is starting to go (same symptoms as TommyBoy). I will be getting my front end inspected when i put in my winter tires, but before they quote me for repairs i'd like to know how much i'm looking at and if i can do this myself. does anyone know what kind of work is envolved in replacing one.

a bad CV joint
doesnt go pop pop pop
CV joints click when they are toast- not popping nioses- and as for oil starvation if his oil Psi light didnt come on nothing to worry about- check you springs though- Ive heard there is a recall on those

The whole axle can be replaced at once which includes both inner/outer CV joints. This can be done with jackstands in your driveway/garage. The left (DS) axle was about $65 (with core) at NAPA. The right side is probably a little more because of the extra bearing support. (?) A Haynes manual is sufficient for the job. Might want to consider replacing the wheel bearing once you have the front end torm apart. (Figure an extra $85)

Oh yeah, AZ and Advance dont carry the parts and the dealer wants way more $$$.

That is not necessarily true. A WORN CV joint that still hasn't failed yet does what you describe, but one time I was driving my Mom's van a few years ago, and it went pop pop pop CLANK CLANK! And then I seen it on the road in the rear view mirror! Of course it happened on a corner while sharply accelerating.

Of course I think she had later said it had been clicking around corners for months before that

Well Demon, I took your advice and took the wheel off and did a visual inspection!!! The CV joint LOOKS Ok no torn boots or any thing!!!!!

Also upon further inspection I found that it does make this noise on both left and right hand turns, even at low speeds. If I turn the wheel all the way to on side and drive in a circle at about 5mph it makes the Popping or clonking noise about every 4-5 seconds but it seems to be a lil louder on right hand turns.......

Any Ideas??????

Also Demon the control arm bushing, is that the same as the A arm?
