Just wanted to start off by saying Happy Holidays to everyone!!! and hope your shopping is going well..lol

Anyway, I have a fuel odor coming from my motor somewhere under or around my upper manifold. I have had for maybe a month or so. My first though was injector O-ring but when I recently installed my SVT upper manifold I checked around for any fuel spillage or stains and sniffed around. I didn't see anything at all. I did notice the inside of the old intake smelled very much like fuel...alot in fact. If I understand correctly, the regulator is connected to the intake via a vacuum line. I did a search and found a post about a similar problem only under WOT and the presure regulator was a possiblity but there was no follow up post. Could this be my problem? I hope it is because the smell is annoying and it does come in through the interior vents.
Has anyone got any insight on this? ...Please?

BTW...I took my car in for this smell (extended warranty) and instead of trying to figure out where it was coming from they did $1100 worth of gasket and seal work and my engine still smells like gas. They said the smell was from oil leaking on my exhuast!! They even replaced my crankshaft seal!!! I don't know what they were thinking. Oh and they replaced my tranny pan with a revised design and gave me a free tranny flush. So I guess I cant complain smile

OUCH!!!!! heres an easy way to check your FPR.. remove the vacuum hose And smell it... LOL.. if it smells like gas might want to put a new one on.. Oh yeah if the idle smooths out when you do this. thats another sign.

BTW, when I replaced the FPR on my 95 Contour, it was the same as the one I took off my 94 Mustang. That means if you want to go adjustable aftermarket that the 94-95 should work.

Any fuel in the vac line or in the vac port behind the throttle body in the intake points to a shot FPR...

I tried to install a Mallory adj FPR and found there is very little clearance under the upper intake manifold. Fits on the rail fine, but everything doesn't go back together. If you can find a 2 blt Ford model that is no taller than stock, you should be good. Otherwise, you have to remote mount it (on a Duratech).

If it is the FPR, could it also affect gas mileage and make my car run rich? I suffer from both.
