There is no filter on atx that can be changed without dismantling transmission.

now, see, my 98 was doing the same damn thing. One day, after stopping at a light, I started to go, and the damn car acted like it was in neutral. We changed the tranny fluid, but my friend said it was still doing that. The OD light started flashing too, it's not anymore though. I don't even think I can get thing up to Autozone for a code test though. My dad's coming down next week to check it out. Hopefully he can get my baby up & running again.

Last night my o/d off light began flashing and the hard shifts began. The light is no longer flashing, but the shifting is still somewhat hard when o/d is off.

I experienced similar problems recently: The flashing o/d light is indicating that your vehicle's power train computer detected some malfunction in the transmission. And the hard shifts are caused by an "emergency program" entered to prevent the transmission from more damage. In fact the oil pressure in the transmission is raised to the max.

In my case the torque converter lockup clutch was broken or burned, so the torque converter had to be replaced.
