I was driving home from work today and my 2000 SVT Contour began to hesitate at higher RPMs (over 4,000 RPM) it felt like the car lost fuel. I then proceeded to enter the highway where the car really started to act up. The car would hesitate at all RPMs on the highway. I had to pull over and then the car died. I was able to start the car but it ran very rough for a few seconds and then died again for good. I can hear clicking from the engine area when I try to start the car but the car will not start. I was able to tow the car back to my garage where I will work on it tomorrow. I do not have a check light. I think it is fuel related. I bought a fuel filter and will install it tomorrow. If it not the fuel filter, what could be the problem? Thanks for any suggestions.

i would suspect that its your fuel pump...sounds like it anyway...i'd do the filter change first, and then go from there...

Let's make it a set of 3 for a bad Fuel Pump.
