I'm looking at 17x7 Rage 5.0 or similar rims for the spring. I'm seeing good prices at Discount Tire and I'm interested in taking advantage of their wheel/tire packages. The problem is the website won't let me combine a 17x7 rim with a 225/45 R17 tire. Should they sell me this combo if I ask for it or is there some liability problem I don't know about? If anybody has ordered a package that wasn't "recommended" please let me know how the deal went.

Thanks
Adrian

Well, I know others have this same combo: 17x7 with 225/45 R17. I just wondered why I can't find a company that will sell that combo.

I would guess liability issues... Maybe this combination (225/45/17) is right on the "edge"... I know a lot of people buy 215/45/17 and that size IS listed in some webpages for sale for a Contour.

I dunno... If u know it fits and u want it then just buy it. Don't even tell them what is the application (don't mention ur car).

Just call them on the phone. You remember...that thing with the buttons that you talk into?

Or, order your wheels/tires by size. I think they will let you do that, won't they?

I bought my Rage 5.0s from Discount tire (Web) with Nitto NT555s in 225 40 17. Sweet set up. NIce looking wide tire. Great grip on the track.
